SORRY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.

In 1923, Marcel Duchamp had returned to Paris after staying in Buenos Aires and the United States and decided to no longer practice art but instead, take up chess. Duchamp was always heralded as one of my favorite artists and sort of took upon his notion of “readymades” when opening up GOLDMINE UNLIMITED. Many years back I had seen an exhibit of chess pieces made by the likes of Man Ray, Max Ernst and Duchamp himself at the Noguchi Museum and decided to take on this Olympic certified sport being fascinated by the history as well as the stories behind chess and its famous players. (most notably Bobby Fischer)
To my disappointment, I never mounted up to much but still enjoy the game.
(Recently, GOLDMINE UNLIMITED had sold a limited edition FRANKLIN MINT ROYAL/ GOLD chess set.)
Franklin Mint Chess set with complete pieces all in mint condition. Please call me 917.945.9466 if interested. Thanks.
